I love the ovals crossing the fingers with the nice finger coverage, the stones in comfortable mounts and graduating in size. It stacks beautifully and despite the richly hued jewel toned purple color to the garnet, the stones still manage to sparkle. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eGorgeous in a ringstack. Found in the UK with their hallmarks for 15k gold and a makers stamp. There is a date letter, but the assay office was lost in a sizing. Definitely antique, I'm guessing Birmingham c1873 although Sheffield c1866 is also possible. We know 15ct and 12ct gold were abolished as legal hallmarking in 1932 as an added guarantee of antiqueness.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAntique box not included. The garnets are about 5.5mm north south tapering just slightly at the ends.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:\u003cbr\u003e\nThe center stone has a circular chip to the outside edge. It still fills the space and retains its shape but you can see the unpolished area of loss. The 20x zoom will accent this a lot more than what is seen with normal wear so please seek that out. Despite wearing it and handling it all week, I didn't notice it until looking at the zoomed photos myself : )\u003cbr\u003e\nGreat finger coverage, beautiful color, sheen and polish overall. Some nicks and nibbles and table facet abrasions that can catch the light as expected for age but they are wonderful stones.\u003cbr\u003e\nThe setting shows some wear to the gold over 150 years so we always recommend gentle wear on our antiques. It could be fortified by your local jeweler but most of my buyers prefer original condition. If more regular wear is desired, you'd want to find someone with a laser welder and ask them to do the minimum possible. None of the stones move but there just aren't a ton of long prongs remaining. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks.
