ABOUT:

Perfectly stackable and always classic three stone old mine cut diamond ring in 18k gold. It is set with the old mine cut diamonds in prongs totaling around 1 full carat. Diamond bands are always so popular as they layer well with other pieces but are also often worn alone.

This versatile design can make a fun self gift, or is also seen with romantic connotations. The three stone design became popular in the antique period for use as an engagement ring and in the current period as an anniversary / right hand ring. The three stones can be thought to represent past, present and future or also friendship, love and fidelity as well as mother, father, child or even me, myself and I : ).

With prongs in good shape on this antique piece, making this beauty ready to wear for regular wear.

Found in England with antique 18CT stamp for 18k gold.

Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and the pictures can make it difficult to see scale. Antique box is not included.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:

Size 5 3/4
The center diamond is about 4.7mm and the adjacent two are 3.7mm each. I wouldn't remove them from the setting for exact carat weights but it is almost 1 full carat total weight in diamonds.
The piece weighs 2.6 grams. It stands 4.6mm off the finger. The ring face is 13mm east west with the three stones.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

Nice bright white color and sparkle but as is often seen with antique stones which were cut in much more limited supply, these stones do have natural inclusions. The center stone has an eye visible inky carbon spot and the adjacent stones also have some crystal inclusions that can catch the light and faint carbon specks as well. They are not in the realm of salt and pepper diamonds but do have inclusions over much of the stones.

Some eccentricities we see in antique diamonds that were hand cut long before the Four C's scale and mathematically perfected machine cutting was invented. These things were taken into account in the pricing. It still has a lovely sparkle and a nice footprint on the finger, fun to wear and stack.

A worn prong here and there on each stone but enough length remaining on the others to hold each stone secure so the prongs are sturdy - it is ready for frequent wear. Prongs feel a bit blunt when rubbing your finger across them.

Rub marks and wear to the gallery as it appears to have been stacked with a band or wrap for most of its life.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
