ABOUT:
Fun geometry to this early 1900s stacker. It has a center white sapphire meant to look like a diamond but without the price. It is in a closed back setting with bezel that is nested amidst a faceted blue sapphire halo. The blue halo is one stone, hallowed out in the middle like a donut to hold the center stone, with a domed and faceted top. It is likely synthetic, a very popular choice for the period.
Found in France with their hallmark for 18k gold.
Antique box is not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size 6 1/2, the ring face is 10mm north to south and 5.5mm tall of the finger. It weighs 2.8 grams.
The center white sapphire is 5.5mm.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
There is loss to one edge of the bezel in one spot leaving an uneven edge but the stones are secure. The white sapphire is nice and bright but definitely has a muted sparkle as there is age to the closed back setting leaving some cloudiness all over the back inside the setting. Some build up in the openwork shoulders, just needs more time and brushing, these closed back settings can't be soaked. A blunt edge on the underside of the ring face and also blunt at the uneven area of the bezel, felt when you run your finger across these areas but I did not find it uncomfortable to wear. Sold as is.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
Thanks so much for looking at my items!
