The gold work is so ornate with the bypass shank leading to flourishes above and below the bezel set opal. Each end is set with a little natural ruby for a contrast with that fabulous antique opal. This is one of the really blue antique ones with that amazing iridescent coloring with green flecks and a soft salmony pink inner glow. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe opal has the most amazing sheen and high gloss finish as well which we love to find in pieces from the period. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI wore this one all over Europe as I purchased it at an outdoor market in Paris early in the trip and enjoyed it the rest of the time. It was right at home in the Art Nouveau museum and cafe I visited in Nancy as well.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFrench hallmark from the Antique period for 18k gold which was discontinued by the early 1900s.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAntique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMEASUREMENTS:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCurrently measures a size 5 1\/4. Weighs 2.1 grams. The ring face is 18.3mm north south.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:\u003cbr\u003e\nWhen you look at it from the side the shank is curved but it was fabricated this way as it is a bypass band. Opal is in better than most condition for age with excellent color. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePlease note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and \/ or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )\u003cbr\u003e\nBut - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition.
