CHUNKY Sleek Domed Bombe Ring 9g 18k GOLD Extra Wide Band French Vintage Stacker

ABOUT:

Chunky bombe wide band ring in glowing, buttery 18k gold. It is engraved inside with a date of March (in French) the year 1989. Quite eye catching with it 16mm north south imposing presence on the finger.

Found in Paris, it has various hallmarks inside and out for 18k gold including a 750 stamp (the numerical hallmarking system used in Europe for 18k gold) and a maker's mark. The gold has a warm, rich patina.

Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
Size 7 3/4, seems to fit a bit more snug with the closed back displacing the finger. The ring face 16mm north south. It is 4.5mm tall off the finger. It weighs a sturdy 8.9g.

CONDITION NOTES:

All my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. The piece is solid gold in that it is not gold filled or plated, but there is vacant space in the ring face with a circular opening in the back inside the ring face from when it was made. Because of this hollow area, and because the piece was clearly worn and enjoyed over the past 30+ years, there are four dings at the shoulders, some a pinhead impression, while others are a linear impression. This and the surface wear is made more notable by the sleek mirrored finish of the piece so one shoulder especially has a rippled appearance. Please note that these exist as it was difficult to capture them in photographs with how reflective and glowing the piece is. The piece is still a very fun statement piece with a wonderful glow and it has a sturdy hand feel and nice weight so despite the vacant space inside, it does not fill flimsy or tinny, and does not flex from pressure. The back edges of the shank are a bit blunt from age and there is a faint seam from a sizing.

There are no dark spots to the gold, it was just difficult to photograph because it reflects its surroundings.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
