It holds 32 rose cut diamonds all around the outside for an attractive geometry and it's fun to layer with other pieces as shown in pics. The gold work is beautiful - 18k gold with a buttery glow with rosy highlights to the smooth rims so it really works with any color. Sturdy piece. Faces up with the value of one carat of diamonds.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis appears to have originally been a picture frame piece, there was likely a glass panel inside at one time. I think it looks great as a diamond circle with no glass so I like it as is.  The loops at the top are later additions.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFound in Sweden, no hallmarks remain, sold to me as 18k and tested to confirm.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePlease note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Some of my buyers \"draw out\" an example to get an idea of scale in person.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAntique Boxes, props, hooks, chains, mice : ) not included. I just used some staging chains to show examples of how to wear.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSIZE \u0026amp; MEASUREMENTS:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWeight is 3.65g. 27.5mm in diameter, the inside opening is 21.5mm.\u003cbr\u003eThe diamonds are each about 2mm give or take. Exact depths vary so carat weight is unknown but with 32 stones at 2mm, it faces up at around 1 carat total weight in diamonds. Rose cuts being typically spready with flat backs, the actual carat weight would be less but again unknown without removing them to put them on a scale.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTypical antique rose cuts with some inclusions, nicks, frosty and irregular edges, likely have always been that way as they were rough cut by hand. They are small so this is not really visible to the eye, they just add a nice little glint of sparkle and a wonderful texture. Varying warm to gray hues.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSome of the hues are due to some residue and patina inside. There are areas behind the diamonds within the setting that are also darker, contributing towards the gray hues of the diamonds but this is again within the setting so aside from the diamond hues, there is nothing visible when wearing the piece. I actually love the hues, the moody antique sparkle and wonderful texture with the sturdy glowing gold of the piece.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe edges of the inside rims are a bit \"edgy.\" Not sharp, completely comfortable to wear, but can be felt when you run your finger across it.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePlease note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and \/ or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : ) There are no dark spots to the gold, it was just difficult to photograph because it is so shiny and mirrored that it reflects its surroundings including the green trees out the window.\u003cbr\u003eBut - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition.
