Of course the pin parts could be removed if desired as well and the loops that the antennae make at the top could also be used to add a jump ring or run a chain through. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis French antique figural brooch is crafted in gorgeous tricolor gold where the body is a satiny yellow gold, the chiseled areas are in rose gold and the accents on the wings are in colored gold. Set with a garnet on the head for a pop of color.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAs a rare treat, the person in France that I purchased it from was able to tell me the maker, Jean Bistolfi from Marseille. It has the antique period hallmark for French 18k gold on the post and clasp as well.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis one was originally used as a pocket watch holder, as it has a little hook at the back that would have held the watch. Now it makes a great pendant holder. Lilypad locket which is actually a perfect match to this piece in both motif, coloring and fabrication will be listed separately.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Victorians were fascinated with nature and also with jewelry, and we see some wonderful designs come from the period incorporating both of these delights. As the figural pieces of the Victorian era often held a symbolism, the dragonfly was thought to new beginnings, change, transformation, but also renewal. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAntique boxes, chains, props in photos is not included.
