Center natural ruby is surrounded by 10 old mine cut diamonds with one additional at each shoulder. It's very French in design with the old mine cuts raised in the shoulders and flanking the halo, but I got this one in Sweden.\u003cbr\u003e\nCrafted in 18k gold, the setting is topped in platinum as was customary to set diamonds in a white metal, while the prongs holding the emerald are in contrasting yellow gold. No hallmarks remain but tests at 18k gold.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePlease note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Antique box is not included.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMEASUREMENTS:\u003cbr\u003e\nSize 8, a little over.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe piece weighs 3.2 grams.\u003cbr\u003e\nThe emerald is 5.1x4.1mm. The diamonds are each 1.7 to 1.9mm.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:\u003cbr\u003e\nA bit of wear to the prongs as expected for age but none of the stones move and there are multiple holding each stone so that where one is worn the others still secure it. The emerald is really well held and surrounded in many gold prongs so that is super secure. The emerald has a nice sheen and polish to the table compared to many we see that are dull and scuffed. Some nibbles to the outside girdle edges of the emerald. It still appears oval and complete in the setting but one edge especially has a few tiny chips making that edge imperfect. Easy to detect with the 20x zoom of the already zoomed photos, but with normal wear much less evident. The emerald has some frosty natural inclusions. The diamonds are frosty from natural inclusions, also typical for age but they are not that big and have a nice sparkle.\u003cbr\u003e\nThe has a chip to the outside top edge of one diamond seen under magnification. None are cracked in half and they all fill the settings. Just the typical quirks we see on pieces of this age, but they are beautiful hand cut antique diamonds, sold as is with these things in mind.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePlease note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and \/ or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )\u003cbr\u003e\nBut - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition.
