ABOUT:

Gorgeous necklace with three part dangling flower pendant holding the most beautifully colored pinkish red natural rubies / pink sapphires. These lead down to a bright white and crystal clear, very fiery antique old mine cut diamond that is a little over .55 carat. Very fine antique diamond, hand cut in much more limited supply back then.

The 18 rubies are about 3.5mm each so around 3.25 carats in gorgeously hued natural rubies / pink sapphires. (Pink sapphires and rubies are in the same corundum gem family with the only difference being based on the "pink hue" - and there is no agreement on where exactly to draw that line : ). The top center and bottom bezels holding the rubies are tulip shaped - just the sweetest details.

Certainly one of a kind, a very special piece. I purchased it from a friend of mine who deals in antique jewelry who has had it her own special collection in for many many years.

All this on a chain connected to each shoulder of the pendant for a lovely sparkle and color. The piece is crafted in 14k gold, both the chain and the pendant, with a hallmark on the spring ring.

Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Some of my buyers "draw out" an example to get an idea of scale in person.

Antique Boxes, props, chains, bannisters, mice : ) not included.

MEASUREMENTS:

The chain is 17 inches stretched end to end. It weighs 8.4g. The pendant is 36mm east west by 33mm north south.

The diamond measures about 5.3mm and is a little over .55 carat.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

Pics don't do this one justice so feel free to request additional videos. The color and sparkle is fabulous. The rubies vary just slightly from one to the next - my favorite part about antique ruby pieces, as it helps to know they are natural and knowing that the jeweler used the more limited resources available to them. They actually sparkle - they are wonderful. The diamond is also better than most for an antique stone. Antique diamonds often have quirks which matters little to many antique collectors as that is part of their charm, but this one is exceptional in quality - bright white, crystal clear, super fiery. So it is obvious that very high quality materials were used in the making of the piece. Some natural inclusions to the rubies leading up to the surface leaving a crease in the center of one, and a hairline and crease on another but all the stones are stable. About four stones have one crease to the surface and one has some small chips to one edge, but they all fill the bezels and appear complete to the eye.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

Striking to wear with the figural shape.
