ABOUT:

The ever popular antique French 18k gold halo or bullseye ring. The ring face is set with 9 old cut clear white sapphire / topaz (meant to look like diamonds but without the price). The center stone is an old single cut and the rest are rose cuts. They are set in a cluster almost floral design with starburst center and are surrounded by vibrant halo of carre/ square cut pinkish red rubies that are channel set in a circle around the outside.

The piece has wonderful color and sparkle. The gold is a lovely rich antique 18k gold. I love the decorative openwork gallery of the ring (underside of the ring face).

French hallmark for 18k gold with a goldsmith stamp.

Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and the pictures can make it difficult to see scale. Antique box is not included.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:

Size 6
The ring face is 12mm diameter and 6mm tall off the finger.
The piece weighs 2.3 grams.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

The white gems appear quite cloudy - this is build up behind the stones. The openings are so small I couldn't get at them to really give it a good cleaning but some additional time and soaking would improve this. They are old cut stones where they are rose cut discs with three facets. The center stone is a single cut and has some nicks and nibbles to the facets but the stones are small so the halo is really the star.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
