Beautiful and dramatic French antique Belle Epoque ring with center blue sapphire surrounded by a halo of old mine cut diamonds. A larger rose cut is set above and below the sapphire in an ornate bezel for additional sparkle. There are 26 diamonds in all.

The encrusted halo provides a wonderful glitter factor accenting the center blue sapphire for that lovely pop of color. Openwork lattice gallery props up the ornate ring face.

French antique hallmark for 18k gold used in the 1800s and discontinued completely by the early 1900s. Also has additional later hallmarks for 18k gold and platinum.

Antique boxes, props, staircases and bannisters ; ) not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

Size 6 3/4. Ring face is 31x9mm and 5mm tall off the finger. It weighs 4.6 grams.

Exact depths of the diamonds and thereby exact carat weight is unknown / approximate but using estimates it is around .8 carats in diamonds. The old mine cuts in the halo are around 2mm each give or take and the two rose cuts are a little over 2mm each. The sapphire is 5x3.5mm.

The center sapphire has some natural inclusions along with some nicks and facet abrasions and a long scratch along one of the outside edge facets. This is slightly eye visible but the stone still has a nice sheen and wonderful color.

Typical antique diamonds with some faint natural inclusions and a tiny nick or frosty flake and a slight difference in hue here or there but most all of these is seen under magnification, to the eye they all provide a wonderful, textured sparkle.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
