ABOUT:
This one is quite large and whimsical with wonderful coloring. A vintage to Art Deco 9k gold scorpion brooch. It is set with juicy blue opals in excellent condition and has two likely synthetic little ruby eyes. Warm rosy coloring to the gold.
No hallmarks remain, tests at 10k gold.
This is currently a whimsical and colorful brooch but could also be used as a connector on the ends of a chain, or converted as desired to a pendant by your local jeweler. I was able to style it with a chain in photos but it does swivel or teeter some as it doesn't want to lie perfectly flat on the decollette with the pin back - but hopefully it gives you an idea of how it would look. Chain not included. Some hook a chain to each end and then use the pin post to run additional dangling charms along the back as a two for one pendant / charm holder. Plenty of ways to wear so I will leave it to the buyer to determine their preference.
Antique boxes, chains, props in photos is not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Three of the opals have a tiny nick, but all appear overall glossy, with beautiful blue iridescent colors and all are complete and fill the settings in their round and oval shapes. Some patina. Some sharp spots - the tips of the claws, point of the tail, this is how it was made. : )
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
