STARBURST Oval French Antique Pink Ruby Rose Old Mine Cut Diamond Ring 18k Gold Geometric Stacker

ABOUT:

Unique halo ring with a beautiful pop of color! This French antique piece has a center starburst design in a circle set with an old mine cut diamond in the middle surrounded by little rose cut diamonds in an illusion setting. Outside of that are perfectly custom cut trapezoidal rubies providing an elongated halo around the center circle. The rubies are likely synthetic, a popular choice for the period and are being sold as such. Their top facets are flat giving the halo a wonderful shimmer. Really stands out in a ring stack.

HALLMARKS:
No hallmarks remain which is common for French pieces as they are marked in the back and often lost during a sizing or from wear. But sold to me from a reputable source in France where the standard is 18k and tested to confirm.

Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

MEASUREMENTS:
The ring is a size 7 1/2 on my mandrel.

The ring face is 16mm north south by 10mm and 5.2mm off the finger. The center old mine cut is about 2mm with the rose cuts very small, about 1mm.
The ring weight is 2.6 grams.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

The ring face is in great condition considering age but Note the back of the shank is bent, both out of round and north south. It doesn't affect how it wears really and is not very visible on the hand since it's on the inside and not out of shape by the ring face, but it is quite curved. I was hesitant to try and curve it back because the shank is thin at the back so if a break occurred, it would need to be welded so I am selling it as is. You might discuss with your local jeweler their comfort level in working with a thin shank as opinions vary, but any jeweler willing to size it would also be able to fix the curve to the shank. Something to discuss with them before purchasing.

Typical antique diamonds, the rose cuts being small rough cuts and the center old mine cut with a warmer hue. They are small but add a nice glint of sparkle. A few nibbles to the rubies but overall a nice sheen and polish, they are not heavily abraided to where they appear dull. All these things are seen under magnification only except for the shank which is clear to see especially when the ring is off the finger.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : ) There are no dark spots to the gold, it was just difficult to photograph because it is so shiny and mirrored that it reflects its surroundings including the green trees out the window.
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
