ABOUT:

A striking architectural ring with great geometric details. Two nicely domed and fiery antique rose cuts are the star of the show in the rectangular ring face with each stone sitting north south in square bezels. Like little disco balls - they shoot some nice rainbow sparkle and they are eye clean! Then we have the accents at each shoulder which are small table cut diamonds for additional geometry. The ring face is propped above an openwork gallery with triangular cutouts on the north and south edges.

It wears like a romantic "toi et moi" ring ("you and me") where each stone represents half of the couple. This design remains quite popular and oh so romantic today, however all the lovely single ladies out there should not be put off! : ) This timeless design can be worn as a self gift as well, just for the joy of the design, color and sparkle, or to think of ones' parents, kids, siblings, or even "me and myself!" : ) Art deco era piece found in France, crafted in 18k gold. The place I purchased it from dated it to c1900 but it's quite geometric so I thought early 1900s. No hallmarks remain which is actually common for French pieces as they are marked in the back and often lost during a sizing or from wear. But sold to me from a reputable source in France where the standard is 18k and tested to confirm.

Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Antique box is not included.

MEASUREMENTS:
Currently measures a size 9 1/4. It weighs a 4.2 grams. Ring face is 13mm north to south by 7mm not including the accents. It stands 5.5mm off the finger.

The diamond are each about 4.2mm with the little table cuts about 1.5mm. Like most rose cuts they have a lower comparative carat weight than a modern diamond but the surface area gives it the appearance of a larger carat stone. Rose cut diamonds are typically quite spready. So it is difficult to speculate on carat weight when we can’t remove them from the setting, which I would never do. But if you were to compare the diameters to brilliant cut diamonds, each of the larger diamonds has the appearance of about 0.28 carat.

CONDITION NOTES:

The rose cuts are eye clean with no chips, inclusions, etc. They have a great fire. One of the end small diamonds is an old but but has more facets and is less square / rectangular than the other table cuts.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
