It's that time of year again for Mouse to clean out her house! So I'll be bringing you some releases from my personal collection this week including this one!
This one I purchased in Austin Texas while accompanying my husband on one of his business trips. Whenever I go to any city, even for vacation or pleasure, I am always checking the area for antique jewelry!
This is a versatile layering chain in the style of "diamonds by the yard." The Vintage 14k curb chain is holding an antique stone - a .4 carat old mine cut diamond that is bezel set with a nice geometry. The diamond bezel setting is fixed and does not slide on the chain, as it is attached at each end by a loop. Probably a case of someone re-setting an old family stone - repurposing granny's diamond to a wearable piece at a later date.
Chain is hallmarked 14k.
Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
The diamond is about 4.5mm and about .4 carat - this is an estimate as I would not remove it for exact weight.
The chain is 18 1/4 inches in length.
The pendant in bezel setting is 5.4mm.
Weight: 4.9g
The chain gauge is 2mm.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
The diamond is eye clean. Just a ripple here or there to the chain.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
