Glittery French antique statement ring crafted in 18k gold. This is a personal collection release that I acquired in Paris last year. With 51 antique rose cut diamonds completely encrusting the ring face, this piece is truly a work of art on the finger. The rectangular frame of diamonds surrounds the center "picture" of floral and swirling open work designs. There are even two of the tiniest rose cuts possible set into each of the four corners, it's quite wonderful. With so many little diamonds to catch the light, the piece totals around 1 1/2 carats / 1.5ctw to really glitter with a great antique look and a great "texture." Ornate shoulders and a sturdy hand feel make this one quite the statement piece.

French hallmark for 18k gold. This piece from the late Georgian to early Victorian era has a closed back setting with the ring face topped in silver. Dark period appropriate patina found in the recesses of the ornate gold shoulders and the silver top, highlighted by its moody sparkle.

Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. St is currently pinky ring sized. Some of my buyers "draw out" an example to get an idea of scale in person.

Antique Boxes, props, chains, mice : ) not included.

Size 6.
The ring face is 25x16mm. The 51 diamonds are small, each 1mm to 2mm. The piece weighs a very sturdy 9.85 grams.

Typical antique diamonds with some rough or frosty edges, irregular facets, shapes and sizes. They are warm to gray in color due to the closed back setting. This is what we expect to see on these little rose cuts from the period as they were cut by hand. At the center of the flower may be a replacement rose cut that appears quite clear / see through compared to the frostiness of the other rose cuts, but it does still catch the light to sparkle when the piece moves.

There is some solder inside the back where the swirls meet the frame and that can be seen from the top while wearing but the patina is uniform. One of the small flowers was originally connected to the frame and has pulled away, and another has a crack to the solder connecting it. But the piece is still stable and doesn't flex or feel flimsy.

The underside of the ring face is curved to adorn the finger while the top is a flat rectangle, but the edges feel a bit blunt and can catch against the finger while worn so full disclosure it is not the most comfortable of rings to wear. Having said that, it is by nature a special occasion piece with its large size and closed back setting which should avoid getting wet. While it has a very sturdy hand feel always recommend gentle wear on these old pieces, especially with so many small diamonds encrusting it in 200 year old settings.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

Striking to wear with the large size and figural shape.
