ABOUT:
Amazing and one of a kind gem encrusted pendant with a chunky circular halo / target design. This piece is in 18k gold topped in silver, with a 14k loop (added later). It is set with 17 natural rubies totaling around 1.5 carats and a circle of rose cut diamonds totaling around .9 carat total weight.
This was a slider or clasp / clip at one point and has a wonderful openwork leaf back. It has an amazing color and sparkle in an attention grabbing size. It is so lovely. Sturdy hand feel with great quality construction.
No hallmarks but tested to confirm.
Chain is not included.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
29mm to the top of the jump ring. The body of the pendant is 21mm in diameter. 9.3mm deep and it weighs 2.3 grams.
Depth of the stones is unknown as I would never remove them. But just using online estimations, honesty, and measurements with a caliper under magnification, we are getting 1.5ctw for the rubies and .9ctw for the diamonds. There are 17 rubies at 2.5mm, 9 rubies at 2mm and the center ruby is 4.2mm. The diamonds are each around 2mm.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
All my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. Three of the rubies have nicks and a few others have a tiny flea bites to a facet here or there but this is seen only under magnification. The diamonds also have some nicks and frosty edges but being old rough, cut by hand diamonds, they may have always been that way. Typical antique stones, both the diamonds and rubies have natural inclusions. No black or dark carbon spots. Some wear to some of the prongs but none of the stones move. The back is slightly curved which is how it was made but has some surface wear or a ripple here or there. Just being super picky, it is a fabulous piece. Wonderful color and sparkle!
