ABOUT:
Wonderful French antique cluster pendant featuring 13 old cut diamonds. At center is a chunky old mine cut diamond. It is surrounded by a halo of rose cut diamonds in heart shaped bezels. I love how the chunky old mine is suspended in the prongs above the ring face so you can see its high crown. This was certainly something else, a pin head perhaps in its former life as the added loops on top are later additions. The setting is a 18k rose gold with loops a more yellow gold.
Would be a beautiful something old for a bride.
HALLMARKS:
French hallmark for 18k gold on the loop.
Antique boxes, chains, props in photos is not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
Exact carat weight is unknown as I would not remove the stones but the largest center stone measures 4.7mm and the ones in the halo are about 2mm each give or take, for a little over one carat total / 1ctw in diamonds.
It measures 16mm top to bottom including the attached loop by 12mm east west and stands 7mm deep. It weighs 1.6 grams.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
As with all my pieces this is in estate condition. A few nicks and natural inclusions typical for old cut diamonds but the rose cuts have a nice dome with not a lot of rough or frosty edges like we often see. And the center old mine cut has a very nice clarity with some speck inclusions seen only under magnification. The little gold ball rivet at the back has a hole in the back from when the loop was welded on, this is not visible when wearing.
A worn prong here or there also typical for age, to keep an eye on over time. Enough remain to hold them securely but something to always keep an eye on with antique jewelry in original condition. Of course re-enforcement is always possible if desired by your local jeweler but most of my buyers opt for special occasion wear and original condition.
