Interesting geometry and eye catching sparkle to this large 18k gold ring with seven rows of old mine cut diamonds. There are 31 diamonds on the ring face with an additional at each shoulder - 33 diamonds all together totaling over 1 full carat. So sparkly and beautiful.

My favorite part about it as the makers even took the time to engrave the underside of the ring face, which is a sort of paneled plateau decorated with floral and leaf designs all around. This one has interest from all angles. And the large ring face provides a great cobblestone texture with the bead prongs and metal work between all of the many many diamonds.

Fun to wear, it really glitters and sparkles, very striking piece with a great geometry, and the almost hidden delight of the underside engraving.

Antique box not included.

French hallmark for 18k gold.

Currently measures a size 7 1/4. It weighs 5.2 grams. The ring face is about 19mm north south (so 3/4 inch) by 14mm. It stands 3.6mm off the finger.

The largest center diamond is about 2.5mm in diameter. The others are all in the 2 to 2.5mm range. Exact depth of each stone is unknown as I would not remove them from the setting but it was sold to me in France as a total carat weight of 1.6 carats.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition, especially considering age. The center diamond has some nicks along one area of the edge facets, no damage to any other stones. It is not super eye visible but just causes the stone to reflect the light differently. Some slightly gray hues to some of the outside stones but may be contributed to by how it was set as there is a slight dome to the ring face to where the center stones face up but the outlining ones splay outward just slightly. Typical old cut diamonds with some natural variations and frosty, feather or icy inclusions here or there, again nothing glaringly visible to the eye at all and no dark or carbon spots. Wonderful geometric look and color with lots of sparkle. Surface wear and scratches. The prongs look good and there are so many little bead prongs, nothing is moving, but I still always recommend gentler wear on antique pieces in original condition, especially when they have a multitude of small stones. Still a sturdy antique piece.

But of course due to age - Please note this piece is not in mint condition.

Very sweet piece from a very special era. I enjoy making my customers happy and matching unique pieces with new homes. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions! It means a lot to me that you are visiting my shop! : )
