ABOUT:
Sturdy and sparkly diamond solitaire ring with .7 carat old European cut diamond in a slightly domed mount with open work linear details extending towards the shoulders. Nice size to wear alone but also layers well with other pieces.
While it is typical for antique hand cut diamonds to have what are considered "imperfections" when comparing it to modern machine cut diamond and the "Four C's" grading scale which came about decades later, this antique diamond is actually exceptional for the period in both color, clarity and condition. It also has an excellent fire and sparkle.

Surface wear and one worn prong expected with age but really no glaring condition issues to report. No nicks, chips, visible inclusions. A great antique ring!
Antique box is not included.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size 7, the face is 6.1mm north to south tapering towards the back. It stands 4.1mm off the finger. It weighs 4.55 grams. The diamond is a chunkier cut and about 5.2mm in diameter. While I would not remove it from the setting to get an accurate measurement, just using my caliper, honesty and online calculators / estimates I am getting around 0.7 carat.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
