ABOUT:

I'm in love! Amazing glitter factor on this geometric encrusted brooch. This French antique piece would be an awesome pendant conversion to wear on a chain (loops to be added by your local jewelry) or could even be worn as a hair pin. The two surfaces are slightly beveled and set with chunky old mine cuts in graduating sizes totaling around 2 3/4 carat in diamonds. I love looking at it from the side to see the high crowns of the diamonds cropping out. Really amazing stones and an exceptional sparkle factor

French hallmarks for 18k gold and platinum.

Antique box in photos is not included.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:

53mm / about 2.1 inches in length end to end. Weight is a sturdy 7.85 grams. It stands up about 6.3mm from the back to the top, not including the pin back, just measuring the pin face.
The diamonds measure about 1.7mm to 3.7mm each. Exact depth and thereby carat weight is unknown as I would never remove them from the setting but just using online estimates by millimeter I am getting around 2 3/4 carats total weight in diamonds / 2.75 Twd.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

Some wear to the prongs and some of the diamonds move slightly so this would need gentle wear (as brooches usually are worn gently). You may also desire to take it to a jeweler to be fortified (you'd want to try to find someone with a laser and ask them to do the minimum amount possible so that they don't overwork it to try and make it like new.). Most of my buyers prefer original condition for gentle wear so I always sell it as such with the age appropriate wear. I just noticed some grime on one edge - you can ignore that in the pics as I was able to clean it away with a gentle cleaning. Typical fabulous antique diamonds some with some slightly warmer hues under magnification but nothing glaring. Also typical in that they have some natural inclusions - one is eye visible on one of the larger diamonds which has an area of carbon. The other inclusions are needle, feather or frosty specks and not eye visible. Still a great geometric Art Deco antique look and wonderful sparkle.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

I enjoy making my customers happy and matching unique pieces with new homes. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions! It means a lot to me that you are visiting my shop! : )
