I am back from my inventory trips to Europe and listing an assortment of hand picked antique jewelry which I have selected one at a time from around the world. Some examples seen in the last photo - thanks for stopping by!

ABOUT:

Large and bold antique Victorian ring with glowing cobalt glue glass set with clear white paste in silver collets. This antique piece is called "bague au firmament" which translates to "Ring of the Heavens." This style became popular due to Marie Antoinette's fondness for them. The blue is meant to look like the night sky, with the twinkling white stones like little stars. In this case they used paste meant to resemble diamonds.

No hallmarks remain but sold to me as 10k and Silver and tested. The shank is a rosy gold and the ring face with closed back and collets holding the stones are in silver. The outline of the ring face is topped in the same gold as the shank so that the bezel holding the blue glass appears gold.

Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pics. Antique boxes, props, staircases and bannisters ; ) not included.

MEASUREMENTS:
Size 9. The ring face measures 22mm x13mm, the piece weighs 4.75g

Still perfectly wearable. Some nicks, Surface wear, abrasions to the glass but no cracks or major loss. The paste are nice and bright white too.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

I would be delighted if you'd follow me in my shop. Thanks for stopping by!
