Antique Daisy CLUSTER Ring 1.1 CARAT Old European Cut DIAMOND Halo 14k Gold Eye Clean Stacker Victorian Edwardian
Antique Daisy CLUSTER Ring 1.1 CARAT Old European Cut DIAMOND Halo 14k Gold Eye Clean Stacker Victorian Edwardian
ABOUT:
A bright and glittery daisy cluster ring with impactful sparkle on the finger. These are ever so popular for me. Totaling around 1.1 carats of old European cut diamonds, the center stone is larger and raised in prongs, surrounded by a halo of smaller OEC's. We often see clusters with the stones more uniform in size, so this one is interesting with the large stone in the center. Also exciting to find the fiery stones are eye clean!
I don't prefer to grade my antique diamonds with the Four C's grading scale which came about way later for machine cut diamonds with mathematically perfected facets. The scale does not do antique stones justice as they were expertly hand cut in a much more limited supply compared to the millions of carats of machine cut diamonds made each year now. Their uniqueness and quirks are expected and part of their charm, but I will pass along the grades as I received them - H/I in color and VS in clarity.
Found in Sweden, no hallmarks remain. Sold to me as 14k gold and tested to confirm.
Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Antique box is not included.
MEASUREMENTS:
Currently measures a snug size 6 3/4. It weighs a 3 grams. Ring face is 10mm in diameter and 5.7mm tall off the finger.
The center diamond is 5.4mm and about 0.6 carat alone.
The other twelve diamonds in the halo are about 2mm give or take for a total carat weight of around 1.1 carats, I would not remove them for an exact measurement.
CONDITION NOTES:
Very nice quality antique stones, bright in color and eye clean. Even under strong magnification the center stone is exceptional. The diamonds in the halo - some are eye clean and a few have some faint natural inclusions. Nothing dark or glaring. This is a fun one to wear with quite a nice fire to the stones. No chips, nicks or cracks. A very fine antique cluster ring. A bit of wear to the setting, a worn back prong here and there on the stones in the halo but none of the stones move. The center stone is especially secure in long prongs ready for another 100 years. Shank is a bit thin towards the back north south wise, but has some depth for stability.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
