ABOUT:
Dramatic diamond shaped navette ring with center tall sugarloaf cabochon ruby raised in prongs and surrounded by 20 old mine cut diamonds. Super interesting to view from the side with the tall domed ruby that glows a pink to red color. Warm rosy patina to the shank and fretwork ring face in 14k gold, topped in silver as was customary for the time to set diamonds in a white metal.
Antique box is not included.
Typical antique diamonds with some natural inclusions, linear and frosty seen Under magnification. They are small so this is not really visible to the eye, they just add a nice little glint of sparkle. A lovely sheen and and polish to the ruby with just age appropriate surface wear.
HALLMARKS:
French hallmarks for 14k gold and silver.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size 5. Ring face is 22mm north to south by 9mm wide, it stands 7.7mm off the finger. It weighs 3.2 grams. The diamonds are each 1.5 to 2.5mm and there are 20 of them so it is at least .6 carat total weight just averaging them out and using estimates by mm.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any glaring issues above and they are all still wearable.
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
