Antique Natural RUBY Old Mine Single Cut DIAMOND HALO Ring 18k Gold
Antique Natural RUBY Old Mine Single Cut DIAMOND HALO Ring 18k Gold
ABOUT:
The natural ruby on this piece has the most wonderful color. Deep crimson red with ripe raspberry pinkish purplish red flash, it appears oxblood burgundy in color like a fine wine. In ambient light it reads the deeper red color but more of the pink and purple hues appear in direct light. Accent by a halo of bright and sparkling old mine single cut diamonds. It's about a quarter carat in diamonds with the ruby about .65 carat.
Found in England, it has a faint antique 18CT stamp for 18k gold.
Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size: 7 1/4
Ring face: 11mm north south by 9mm and 6mm deep.
Weight: 3.3g.
CONDITION NOTES:
A natural inclusion on one edge of the ruby leading to a nibble to the girdle edge and a crease to the underside edge of the stone that can sometimes catch the light. But the top of the ruby has a wonderful sheen and polish with the fewest tiny abrasions and a fabulous color. The stone still appears complete but you can see the nibbles and shallowest flake of loss if you are studying it and looking for it. Also typical antique diamonds with some faint natural inclusions seen mostly under magnification. They are small and just add a nice sparkle.
Please also note that I take some photos / videos in the sunshine because it captures the lovely color and sparkle, but it also highlights any surface wear, scratches, abrasions, buildup or inclusions that can catch the light, making these things appear worse than they would with normal day to day wear. : ) Hopefully the pics in all lightning conditions help as they serve as part of the description.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
