ABOUT:

Another personal collection release that I have enjoyed wearing - just too many rings and not enough fingers. : )
What drew me to this one was the mix of old cut diamonds and the unique way they are prong set with space in between to splay them out over across the top of the finger. Uncommon, as we usually see five stones with the diamonds nested together. Three of the diamonds are old mine cut, one of the end stones is a rose cut and the other end stone is an old single cut. One of the old mines has a lovely yellow hue under magnification. We see these variations sometimes in antique jewelry as the jewelers of the time use whatever combination of stones they had available to them. Such a fun one to wear and stack. Would make a cute pinky ring.

Antique boxes, props, staircases and bannisters ; ) not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

Unfamiliar to me hallmarks, European as they are on the outside of the shank, but one says 18k so that is confirmed.

MEASUREMENTS:
Size 3 3/4 , The ring face is 3.5mm north to south, and 4.2mm tall, it weighs 1.65g.
The center diamond is 3mm, the other four are around 2mm each give or take.

The end stones have a slightly more grayish hue. Some nibbles and natural inclusions not eye visible. Under very strong magnification only I can see a triangular "indented natural inclusion on one side of the center diamond - GIA defines this as a dent that occurs under the surface of a diamond as a result of the diamond cutter's decision not to polish it off, because doing so could end up harming the diamond so the cutters would work around it - this is not considered a defect or blemish but under strong magnification it looks like a tiny, frosty but quite tidy triangle. Not eye visible. A worn prong here or there but enough remaining on the others that none of the stones move - common and expected on a piece of this age that is in original condition.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
