ANTIQUE One Carat Old Mine Cut DIAMOND Eleven Stone Daisy Cluster Ring 18k Gold
ANTIQUE One Carat Old Mine Cut DIAMOND Eleven Stone Daisy Cluster Ring 18k Gold
ABOUT:
The center stone of this cluster is a chunk! Held up in prongs, the chunky antique hand cut diamond is viewable from all angles and it has a lovely warm to pale yellow color. Awesome lofty crown and deep pavilion.
It is surrounded by a lower halo of 10 old mine cut diamonds. Beautiful antique sparkle in a simple shank with little bridge details at the shoulder leading up to the cluster face.
The piece is crafted in 18k gold. There are 11 diamonds in all totaling around 1 carat.
Found in France, but no hallmarks remain. Sold to me as 18k which is the standard there and tested to confirm.
Antique boxes, props, mice, staircases and bannisters ; ) not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size 7 1/4. Ring face is 9.8mm north south and 7.5mm tall off the finger to the top of the chunky diamond. It weighs 2.7 grams.
Exact depths of the diamonds and thereby exact carat weight is unknown / approximate as I would never remove them, but estimated weight is around one carat total weight in diamonds. The center diamond is chunk (!) at about 4.8mm and really deep, so it is over half a carat alone. The ten old mine cuts in the halo are around 2mm each.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Typical antique diamonds with some natural inclusions as we often see during the period, before such things were emphasized for machine cut diamonds. The center diamond is especially lovely with its beautiful warmth and extra chunky cut, not found on modern day stones. It does have some indented natural inclusions with some worth which carry up to the surface leaving 5 tiny creases on one edge that can reflect around the stone when magnified. It is eye visible but not glaringly so. For the others - Mostly faint frostier inclusions, nothing glaring but some can appear a bit frosty overall when studying. Also typical in that they do have some warmth. The center stone is very secure in several prongs. For the halo - A worn prong here and there as we commonly find on pieces of this age. I have priced it with these things in mind, but this would not be the piece for people who prefer their antiques ready for 24/7 wear with highly graded Four C's stones. Enough prongs remain to hold them securely and none of the stones move but something to always keep an eye on with antique jewelry in original condition, of course reinforcement is always possible if desired by your local jeweler. It's the outlining prongs that show the most wear. Excellent sparkle with a great antique look. The shank is a bit dainty and blunt on the edges but stable. Again typical things for antique rings.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
