I wish I owned all the antique jewelry in all the world!

Always wanted one of these and excited to share it in the shop - Georgian era or earlier British Stuart Crystal ring with gold wire cypher. The geometric carved rock crystal is set in a domed closed back setting in 14k gold (tested) rub over setting. These rings became popular after the death of King Charles I in 1649 so it would date from the mid 1600s to 1700s.
Some remnants of pink and red foil back remains. The crystal is in really nice shape with just same faint soft wear to the facets but no chips, deep nicks or glaring abrasions, it has a nice shine and polish. Rock crystal is the purest variety of quartz and is transparent and completely colourless. The gold wire cypher is set over a panel of braided hair as was the custom.

MEASUREMENTS:
Currently measures a size 5 3/4. The stone is about 8mm square. Weighs 1.75 grams.
CONDITION NOTES:
All my pieces are preowned and in estate condition. Some deterioration to the foil from age which has caused it to some brown areas in the corners and some faint spots of pink and red. Looking through the stonne to the center is where you see the color, looking around the curved outline edges is where you see the darker deterioration. Still nicely shaped and sturdy. The rub over bezel is also in really great shape, the crystal does not budge.
