AQUAMARINE Vintage to Antique FRENCH Ruby Halo Ring 9k Rose Gold

ABOUT:

Unique setting and fabulous coloring on this French vintage to antique ring with center pale blue aquamarine surrounded by a halo of reddish pink rubies. The circular ring face is held up by a sturdy tapered shank with French hallmark for 9k gold. I am a bit stumped by the age. At first it read vintage to me, but then studying the wear and cuts of the stones it's possibly older as the piece has signs of age and wear to the gold which takes years to occur with organic wear. The shank is also antique in style but I will sell it as vintage just to be safe since the piece has no date marks.

Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

MEASUREMENTS:
The ring is a size 4 3/4 on my mandrel.

The center aquamarine is 7.5mm. The rubies are each about 2mm, give or take.

The ring face is 12mm north south and stands 6.5mm off the finger.
The ring weight is 3.65grams.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

The prongs around the aquamarine show a lot of wear, some worn almost completely back. This piece is being sold as is for gentle special occasion wear, it is certainly a unique color and stone combination. The aqua shifts slightly. Of course reinforcement is always possible if desired by your local jeweler but most of my buyers opt for gentler and original condition. It would be possible to reinforce just some of the prongs (one on each side for example) but that would be something to discuss with your jeweler as far as cost. The prongs around the rubies edges have more length. The ring face is cast with verdigris from age to the base metals used as alloys in the ring. The green is visible inside the ring face and when viewed from the side but less evident with normal wear. The ring face tilts but still wears well on the finger.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : ) There are no dark spots to the gold, it was just difficult to photograph because it is so shiny and mirrored that it reflects its surroundings including the green trees out the window.
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
