ABOUT:
A unique pair of antique natural rose cut diamond earrings. These are crafted in platinum with the ear wires added later. They decided to fix them to the diamond portions, so they don't dangle, but rather slope beautifully down from the ear with a lovely curve to the diamond setting.
As we don't commonly see this fabrication, I was talking with the dealer who thought the diamond portions perhaps came from a bar brooch. Also lovely that the diamonds are in open backed settings, making them easier to wear and clean.
Antique box is not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos, especially with the zoomed images that I am required to present for detail.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
The diamonds are each about 2.3 to 3mm, many with nicely domed tops.
29mm top to bottom.
The pair weighs 3.6 grams combined.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
You can detect a bit the solder points at the top from where the ear wires were added but all uniform in hue and color. Some of the diamonds are eye clean, the others with some frosty or speck inclusions. One appears quite frosty as it has a notch to the girdle and some flakes of loss that reflect around and can catch the light but for the most part appears complete in form and shape the bezel. The ear wires feel sturdy as do the settings and none of the stones move, but they are round bezels for freeform rose cut diamonds that are not perfectly round. They look amazing but I always recommend gentler wear on these older settings with multiple smaller stones which by nature earrings are more gently worn anyway. I just wouldn't sleep or play sports in them maybe ; )

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
