ABOUT:
If you ever browse antique jewelry on instagram, you'll see the trend of taking these old pocket watch chain components and turning them into chunky layering necklaces. Here is a piece that would be a beautiful addition or interesting piece to wear alone on its own dainty chain - it is a Victorian wax seal with carved bloodstone depicting a shield with the initials in reverse WS with a tree branch growing out the top and a bird perched on it. I love these old pieces with figures and animals on them. Not only is the carved part lovely but the seal itself has a beautiful chain or love knot design with the ornate embossed scroll and floral details.
The hallmarks are worn so I could not identify them. I got this in Sweden on an inventory trip early in the year. Sold to me from a reputable source as 18k and tested to confirm.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
25mm tall, the base is 13x11mm. Weight is 13.3gram.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
No chips or cracks to the stone, the intaglio is in great condition as is the gold work. Some remnants in the recesses as it was actually used as a wax seal.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
