ABOUT:

One of my favorite opals to date! The glowing iridescent blue green color is so... mwah (chef's kiss). In combination with the unique setting and wonderful sheen and polish, this piece is quite striking.

I have a fondness for opals passed on from my lovely mom. This is an early 1900s Art Deco to 1930s piece. I see oval opal rings frequently but this one with the halo of smaller glowing blue opal orbs give it a really wonderful color and glow. The center, larger stone has galaxy-like streaks of green with a pink undertone. But the piece as a whole reads so incredibly blue (both the center and the halo) which is what always draws me to my favorite opals. It's so fun to wear.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:

It's a size 7 3/4 on my ring sizer mandrel. It weighs 3 grams. The ring face is 15x12mm and stands 6.8mm off the finger. The center opal is about 10x9mm. The smaller ones in the halo are about 1.5mm.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

I have opals that I do not baby - so in my opinion they are still quite wearable. But I have to say the large center opal is in better than most condition with such a lovely sheen and polish, very little surface wear and what is there is only seen under magnification. To the eye, the color is fabulous and it glows beautifully. Two of the smaller opals (right next to each other) have shards of loss to the surface. They still appear complete and round to the eye while wearing but under magnification you can see the uneven, unpolished area when you study the surface at an angle. Again this does not jump out to the eye but you will see it with a loupe.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

Thanks so much for looking at my items!
