ABOUT:

Awesome French antique 18k solid gold necklace with a hexagonal barrel clasp decorated on each of the six beveled sides with geometric and little floral details. Intricate enamel work with colors of navy, light blue, white. Makes an excellent chain, pendant or locket holder for your neckmess or neckstack. But it also wears beautifully alone with the clasp to the front as a pendant, hanging to the side or towards the back. It has a wonderful shimmer, shine and a rich buttery antique patina that just glows.

Found in France, this has been in my personal collection but I just got a "pensee a moi" clasp so I had to let this one go.

Nice length and drapes beautifully. This is an antique piece that I acquired in France from the 1800s early Victorian era. These pieces are becoming more and more scarce, as these folk traditional pieces fell out of use in the early 1900s.

French hallmarks for 18k on the loops. Antique boxes / items in displays in photos are not included.

MEASUREMENTS:
It weighs 7.3g. It is about 18 3/4. inches in length stretched end to end. The little barrel clasp pendant is about 21mm from loop to loop.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

Please note that all my pieces are in estate condition. Some loss to the enamel mostly on the flower. No solders or repairs but I notice some difference in patina on some areas of the links that appear a bit darker on the inside of the little round links. It was significantly darker in certain stretches when I purchased it and I spent some time cleaning it which brightened the gold back and made it much less noticeable but I wanted to mention that. The links still have the rich antique patina but there are about a dozen areas that have a few links that are darker on the inside than the others. I didn't notice this when I was wearing it, but see it when I am handling it. I tried to show it in photos. Must have been stored next to something silver and had the tarnish spread or something. The clasp functions well and is sturdy and secure. Uniform surface wear from age but fantastic to wear alone or layer.

My disclaimer with all my antique pieces - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition.

I would be delighted if you'd follow me in my shop. Thanks for stopping by!
