ABOUT:

This is a personal collection release that I had found in England. A Georgian era figural bow encrusted with rose cut diamonds on a beautifully floral embossed 14k gold shank. It's such a sweet stacker!

This piece was likely created from a pin or other jewelry element originally, so the bow is antique Georgian era, and was re-shanked at a later date with the later band in the antique style, very beautifully done. The gold work at the shoulders is delicious, in the Georgian style with floral embossing including little forget me not flowers.

The diamonds are set in silver as was customary for the period, with the back of the bow a rosy gold wash (also customary). No hallmarks but sold to me as 14k and tested.

I enjoyed layering this one with bands for the sweet bow shape and the moody antique sparkle. The rough cut rose cuts also add a wonderful texture to the bow which is entirely encrusted.

Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Antique box is not included.

MEASUREMENTS:
Size 7 1/4.
9.7mm north south and the bow is 16.5mm wide.
Weight: 3.9g.

CONDITION NOTES:

Looking inside the ring face you can see some variances in patina with the rosy gold wash and where it was tidily connected to the new shank. Typical rose cuts from the period with varying cuts and warm to gray hues from age to the closed back setting. The center rose cut is quite dark grey from age to the foil back. A few nibbles seen only under magnification. Sturdy shank with gorgeous details.

Some surface scuffs to the pointed top facets of the rose cuts so the facets have a bit of a matte finish, but still sparkle and glow. A few small nibbles, No cracks. Some build up as we avoid getting these closed back settings wet. One stone has adhesive residue around the base but this was not visible to my eyes while wearing (and can also be turned to the inside of the hand), but please look for that in the zoom photos which makes the stones wear appear worse than with normal wear. We usually see such wear with antique eternity rings because the inside of the hand makes contact with surfaces, so considering that, this one is actually quite good for condition with no cracks or large chips.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
