This antique piece is so on trend today with the wide, domed band in glowing 18k gold leading up to ring face. At the top are 6 chunky old mine cut diamonds set in a grid pattern or in two rows of three. The six stones total around 1.5 carats total weight in diamonds as they are hand cut with high crowns and / or deep pavilions. The bead prongs add an additional texture to the geometric face.

Fun to wear alone but also layers well with other pieces.

Found in France, with their hallmark for 18k and a goldsmith stamp. Very sturdy hand feel.

Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Antique box is not included.

Size: 8 1/2
Diamond: The old mine cuts are about 3.8mm each, with the ring totaling approximately 1.5 carats.
Ring face: 10.3mm north south
Height off finger: 3.3mm tall.
Weight: 8.75g.

The diamond are in great condition for antique stones with no nicks or nibbles. But they are all included with eye visible frosty spots, some almost being fully included. Not a lot of dark carbon but more an icy look to the stones, almost like salt and pepper but again without a lot of dark speckling. We see this often with antique diamonds that were hand cut long before the Four C's were invented. With fewer diamonds in circulation (compared to the millions of machine cut diamonds added to the market each year now), these were reserved for royalty and the upper class, and less attention was paid on things like inclusions or color. The frosty inclusions do lead the diamonds to read a bit gray and less fiery than some, with a moodier sparkle and a great antique look with the chunky cuts. One of the corner diamonds reads especially gray at some angles. Because of the deep pavilions, some do extend a hair beyond the ring face and can make contact with the finger but with the open culets I do not find it uncomfortable to wear. There are no dark spots to the gold, it was just difficult to photograph because it reflects its surroundings.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
