ABOUT:

Substantial and interesting vintage ring with seven old cut diamonds in "floating", tall and chunky bezel settings, affixed to a sturdy triple banded shank. The center largest diamond and one of the smaller ones are transitional cuts, the others are old mine cuts. Total carat weight is around 2 3/4 carats so quite a lot of chunky sparkle. Clearly a custom made piece - It is a real show stopper with amazing sparkle and excellent finger coverage. The three bands each appear to be independent and were then connected at the back. The setting is quite freeform in design with the varying sized diamonds giving it a very organic, modernist feel.

So we know most of the stones are old based on their cuts, but the setting, with the wide band and sleek bezel settings appears more retro vintage. I am assuming this is an heirloom piece where someone took their / or dear old Granny's old diamonds from various pieces and had them all reset into a newer setting. It an assuredly unique piece with the mix of diamonds set into the vintage setting, certainly one of a kind.

No hallmarks remain, sold to me as 10k gold and tested to confirm.

Please note the detailed measurements that I always provide, as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures where I am required to show zoomed in detail.

MEASUREMENTS:

Ring is currently about a size 5 1/4. It weighs a sturdy 7.5 grams.
The ring face is 14mm north south by 19mm east west and stands 4.5mm off the finger with the tall bezel settings.

The center diamond is about 6mm and about .9 carat. Three measure 4 to 4.3mm and the other three are about 3.1 to 3.6mm. Exact carat weight is unknown as I would not remove them from the setting but some chunky cuts and lofty crowns. It was sold to me as around 3 carats but according to my measurements, I am getting closer to 2.75 carat total weight in diamonds so I am listing it as that to be conservative when actual weight may be higher, it is just difficult to say for sure when the girdles are not visible and the edges of the stones are overlapped by the bezel.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

The center stone moves very very slightly and can click occasionally when you tap it but is secure in the bezel. All edges of all stones are completely encased in the bezel settings. The center stone has a few tiny carbon spots, barely eye visible if you are seeking them out, seen more under magnification as they are so so small. Two of the smaller stones also have a smattering of carbon inclusions which are eye visible but again not super glaring since the stones are smaller. The others are eye clean. None of the stones have any nicks, chips, damage or frosty flakes of loss.

The gold has a beautiful glow and patina despite being lower carat and an excellent sparkle to this fun, one of a kind piece.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
