ABOUT:
A great retro ring in 14k gold set with a mix of old cut diamonds - some transitional, some Old European Cut and the smaller stones are old mine cuts with warm champagne hues. This attention grabbing Art Deco ring has a wonderful sparkle with unique movement to the swooping and swirling designs of the ring face. I love the swirling shield shaped face with great sparkle from the 3/4 carat of diamonds.
Stamped HB 14k inside.
Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and the pictures can make it difficult to see scale.
Antique box is not included.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
Size 6. It is 21mm north to south on the finger and slightly domed, standing 6mm tall off the finger.
The five largest diamonds are about 3 to 3.5mm each with the smaller about 1.5 to 2mm. Without removing them / just using estimates it is around 3/4 carat or 0.75ctw in diamonds.
The piece weighs 5.1g.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
The largest stone has an area of inclusions over about 1/4 of it, with some carbon and quite a bit of frostiness in those areas. Sorrow, sorrows, but we do tend to see this with antique diamonds. The inclusions can catch the light and become eye visible. One of the smaller stones has nibbles and shallow flakes of loss but still appears complete while wearing. The smaller old mine cuts have a beautiful warmth to them with champagne to yellow hues. The prongs are great so she's ready for regular wear.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
