ABOUT:
I love this unique figural antique ring - this French piece from the Victorian period is crafted in 18k gold with an open work large oval face. The center is designed with a cross set with glittering rose cut diamonds. There are three small pearls to each side and lovely scroll work above and below the cross. Ornate leaf details adorn the shoulders of the ribbed shank.
Very uncommon design. At first I wondered if it was a pin conversion but after studying it, it is clear the piece was always a ring.
French hallmark for 18k gold on the back of the shank. It is worn and difficult to decipher without magnification but I can identify the partial mark as I have seen it thousands of times.
Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and the pictures can make it difficult to see scale. Antique box is not included.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
Size 7 3/4. The ring face is 20mm north south by 12mm.
The piece weighs 2.5g.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
A lot of build up around the pearls that I believe is adhesive. Typical old rose cut diamonds with some inclusions, nicks, frosty and irregular edges, likely have always been that way as they were rough cut by hand. They are small so this is not really visible to the eye, they just add a nice little glint of sparkle.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
