ABOUT:
Wonderful dainty links to this antique rosy gold pendant holder. Crafted in 9k gold, the dainty cable link chain has two gold bar details on each side separated by a ball rivet / gold pearl. At the center of the chain is a loop that could be used to affix a favorite pendant at the center.
Nice geometry and interest to layer or a minimalist piece to wear alone. The links are created in pairs soldered together, two links at a time.
Found in England. No hallmarks remain but it was sold to me as 14k gold tested. Looking at it more closely and testing it, I think it might be 9k so I am listing it as that to be safe, which is the standard in England where I purchased it.
Antique boxes, pendants / displays and any additional items in photos are not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos.
MEASUREMENTS:
The chain is 23 inches in length.
Weight is 3.45 grams.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
A little bit of build up and wear due to age along with some antique patina. I can see a little bit of verdigris only under strong magnification mostly at the solder points connecting the two links. This is from the aging of the copper alloy used in the lower carat gold. The center loop seems to have a warmer patina but also tests as the 9k gold.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
