ABOUT:
Darling Zozo's sweet reversible locket. You sure were loved, Zozo! This love token is beautiful engraved "Darling" on one side, and on the reverse is Zozo's name and the date of 1885. The love token is silver as they typically are, with a hole for a loop at the top. But in its antiquity it was cased in an antique chubby locket crafted in both buttery yellow and rosy 9k gold with beveled glass panes and little ball rivet detail surrounding the gold frame.
Antique 9CT hallmark on the gold rim for 9k gold, a UK hallmark in my experience.
Antique boxes, pendants / displays and any additional items in photos are not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos.
MEASUREMENTS:
23mm to the top of the attached loop by 21mm wide. It is 6mm deep.
Weight is a sturdy 4.7 grams.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Note the small bale, a jump ring may need to be added. Two of the little ball rivets have dings from age and wear seen if you turn the piece on the side. I think the darling token also has a shallow impression like a ripple but it is fully protected in the case. Varying rose and yellow patina from age, it is quite lovely.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
