ABOUT:
This is a reluctant personal collection release from the Victorian period. I love ornate stackable bands and especially ones with dated provenance such as this. Just can't keep them all and we are saving up for some home renovation so I decided to offer it up. : )
French Victorian era wedding band with gorgeous hand chiseled engravings all the way around the outside with ornate swirling details. Engraved on the inside with the names and date in French for January 11, 1882. It reads: "H. Richard B. Heluin - 11 Janvier, 1882"
French hallmark for 18k gold. It has a warm rosy patina from age to the alloys used. During this time there was no regulated or known formula for the alloys used which results in the gorgeous varying patinas we see in antique gold which can't be found in modern pieces.
Antique box is not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size: 6 1/2, a little over but the center does not cross 6 3/4.
North south measurement: 5.4mm
Weight: 3.2g
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
