ABOUT:

Beautiful lucky clover French Art Nouveau engraved medallion or pendant. On the front side we have clovers and swirling details with the center engraved with the date in French for March (Mars) 22, 1922. But this piece was actually fabricated before that as it bears the French hallmark for 18k gold that was discontinued by 1919.

Also adding to its unique story, for a 35th anniversary or birthday perhaps, as it is dated again for March 22 on the back side, but with the year 1957.

Clearly a custom piece, the craftsmanship is superb with the open work hand engraved detail. This would be a great compliment to an Augis love medal collection.

Antique box, props chains, not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos.

MEASUREMENTS:

The piece measures 24mm to the top of the attached loop. It weighs 3.1 grams.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

The loop has worn quite thin. Gold is surprisingly tough so it has some years left but if it was pulled on it might cause the loop to break (something my little niece would do when I hold her.). This could easily be reinforced by a local jeweler who could take a little extra bead of gold to the top. I'd try to find someone with a laser to use less heat and request that they not polish the body of the piece ; )

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
