DRAGON Rose Cut Diamond FRENCH Antique 18k Gold Chimera FIGURAL Slide Pendant Victorian

Awesome slide clip - this one has a winged Lion / chimera or griffin set with a rose cut diamond for a glint of sparkle.

This is an antique piece from the Belle Epoque era that I acquired in France. Wonderful swirling details - so Art Nouveau! And the patina is just fantastic with satin sheen and rosy highlights seen under magnification - I love French antique gold.

NOTE - the chain and pendants seen in photos are not included, but I wanted to show you how I wore it, as it works well above a dog clip to add character in your neckmess / neckstack.

Because it has a spring loaded clip on the back with tension, it can attach to most any chain, necklace or bracelet wrapped around a wrist. However, the top little loop is gold wire and is a bit loose, I noticed my chain would sometimes slip out from it. I do think it could be altered to tighten it or a permanent / closed loop could be added to stabilize it on a chain. I think it was originally used as a clip for a silk scarf or some sort of button which is why that loop is intentionally loose, it's how it was made. The spring loaded clip on the back folds up and down with a very nice snap so the hinges are in great shape. But while I was staging it, it would tilt and move since that top gold wire is just a hook currently. But again, easily altered to wear as a pendant.

Any props or additional items shown are not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos. This one particularly seems to show larger in photos than it actually is, they are the actual item (and my actual hand) but perspective in photos is hard : ) .

MEASUREMENTS:

22mmx19mm. It weighs 3.4grams.

MARKS:
French hallmark for 18k gold on the rim and a goldsmith stamp on the back. Also has some stamped letters on the back

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned with some age to them so they are in estate condition. Under magnification the rose cut has a nibble / nick to the girdle edge but it is small so not really eye visible. The gold is in excellent condition and detail is amazing. No deep scratches, nicks or bends, it has held its shape perfectly. Nice texture with satin areas and shine with beautiful gold patina, it is very beautiful in its coloring.

But by disclaimer as always due to age is this piece is not in mint condition.
