Up next I have some stackable bands at various price points.
This one is a five stone half hoop with alternating emeralds and garnets for a lovely color combination. The garnets have a pinkish purplish red, like a juicy berry color, contrasting with the green of the emeralds. Closed back setting, this piece is from the late Georgian to early Victorian period. It wears beautifully on its own as a skinny layering band to add a pop of color, or alone as a minimalist ring. The shank is engraved all the way around including a flower at the back.
Found in England, no hallmarks remain but tests at 18k gold.
Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Antique box is not included.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size 7 3/4
Ring face: 5mm north south, the three largest stones at the center are about 3mm each with the end stones being smaller.
Weight: 1.8g.
CONDITION NOTES:
There is adhesive residue around one of the garnets which is strange because the prongs seem to be in fine shape. Maybe the stone moved or something. It just appears as sort of build up on the side of the setting and around the stone. With the closed back setting I didn't want to soak it or get it wet. Some nicks and scuffs to the little gems but a nice coloring.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
