ABOUT:

Ornate and intricate detail to the filigree work on this beautiful Art Deco era ring. The piece is set with a sapphire above and below an old mine cut diamond. With five additional old mine single cut diamonds set into the sides of the filigree work for added sparkle.

This one has been in my personal collection for a few years. I purchased it along with several other antique pieces in the wonderful historic St. Augustine, Florida ("the oldest city in the U.S.") on a trip to visit my father in law.

No hallmarks remain, tests at 14k gold. It has a warm, rosy antique patina with the ring face topped in white gold or platinum, as was customary for the period to set diamonds in a white metal. I did not want to scratch test the intricate face to test it but it is the common fabrication for the period.

Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

MEASUREMENTS:

Currently measures a size 4 3/4. It weighs 3.5 grams. The ring face is 14mm north south. It domes 4.7mm off the finger.

The center diamond is about 3mm and the sapphires each about 2.3mm. Total diamond weight is about .25 carat.

CONDITION NOTES:

There are some abrasions to the sapphires where the table facets are scuffed around the edges. Nice color so this is not terribly glaring as the stones are small. Typical antique diamonds, some of the smallest ones have a slight natural cloudiness also not really eye visible.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
