FIST Antique VICTORIAN 18k Gold Figural Pendant French Antique Belle Epoque Reversible

Fun and interesting figural French antique pendant of a fist holding a swivel bracket. This would have originally been on a Victorian antique watch chain / long guard chain where the chain would have come out of the cuff and the fist would point down. But apparently the chain didn't survive so the bottom of the cuff has been smoothed down and closed and now the piece can be hung from a chain by the loop at the top, so the fist reaches up and holds the bracket.

Completely reversible piece depending on which side of the fist you'd like to see. The bracket is very ornate. It has some delicate spot, so please note the important condition notes below.

I could envision this with a dog clip, looped into the top to be clipped onto and hang as a pendant on any sized chain, or a small chain could be run through the top loop as well. I have some antique dog clips available for purchase if you'd like to inquire or see how that would look.

French hallmarks for 18k gold. It has a glowing, buttery patina.

Chain is not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pics. Antique boxes, props, staircases and bannisters ; ) not included.

MEASUREMENTS:
27mm top to bottom by 12mm wide. It weighs 1.5 grams.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

Due to its hollow fabrication, which is how it was originally made, there is some wear to the gold fist, where each side has worn thin to completely worn away leaving a gap. There are about three fingers of gold still complete, and holding the bracket, but it can dangle a bit sideways and if it were to get caught on any thing the gold could break so it does need gentle wear for that reason. The bottom of the cuff is uneven with some tiny holes from where the chain used to be extended which has been sanded down. There are a few shallow impressions on th a natural indentation between the knuckles. Just something to look for in the photos.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
