Five Stone OVAL 2.5 Carats Natural SAPPHIRE Royal Blue 14k Gold Fleur de Lis Trident Prongs

ABOUT:

The true blue sapphires and their inner fiery flash are to die for on this ring. Totaling around 2 1/2 carats in natural sapphires, the oval stones graduate in size towards the shoulders. Between each stone are ornate prongs with a fleur de lis or trident shape to add an interesting design detail.

Found in England, this antique ring is crafted in 14k. No hallmarks remain but it was sold to me as such and tested to confirm. Note the gold is a lovely pale yellow color. Back then there were no regulated recipes for the alloys used in gold so this one must have contained a bit more nickel perhaps? But still has the pale yellow glow.

Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

MEASUREMENTS:

A snug Size 5 1/2
It weighs 2.8 grams.
The ring face is 8.6mm north south and 4mm off the finger.

CONDITION NOTES:

A few nicks and nibbles especially to the end stones but overall a gorgeous color with a nice sheen and polish. Some natural inclusions seen in direct light and under lit magnification. The center sapphire reads a bit deeper blue but they all reflect a gorgeous royal blue from within. Note the pale yellow of the 14k gold.

Please also note that I take some photos / videos in the sunshine because it captures the lovely color and sparkle, but it also highlights any surface wear, scratches, abrasions, buildup or inclusions that can catch the light, making these things appear worse than they would with normal day to day wear. : ) Hopefully the pics in all lightning conditions help as they serve as part of the description.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
