Fleur de Lis Antique Brown Leather Gold Embossed Multi Ring Pendant Chain HOLDER Jewelry Box French Belle Epoque Paris

Personal Collection Release. I know many of us antique jewelry addicts also have a passion for antique jewelry boxes. Here is a fine one from my personal collection that I purchased in France.

ABOUT:

Gorgeous rectangular leather antique box from the Victorian era with attached flip top lid. Beautiful coloring and organic wear from authentic age, it's lovely and romantic. The lid has a gold embossed fleur de lis with a gold outline accent and little flowers and swirls in each corner. The inside is also leather, perhaps wrapped around some sort of board as it is sturdy and not flexible / collapsable.

I purchased this antique box in France. I put little foam ring holders inside for my purposes, to allow the piece to hold multiple rings of mine, but it is easily removable. Please note that inserts are nothing professional or fancy so I am not selling it to highlight that, or claiming that inside as perfectly done, as the value is in the empty box. So I am selling it as is. I will send it along with the inserts I had used for the buyer to decide if they want it or not. There are also shops on Etsy who make high quality custom inserts for antique jewelry boxes which is another option for the buyer, but again it currently just has inexpensive foam ring slots tucked inside.

These antique boxes are collectible in their own right which is why I purchased it and enjoyed using it. It is always fun to store our antique treasures in antique housing. Just thought it was time to pass it on.

Important NOTE: Please note the measurements!! It is not a super deep box. I have small fingers so it holds my rings but is likely not deep enough to hold larger sized rings with tall / high ring faces.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:

(length x width x height): 8.3x6.2cm north south and east west. It is 2.9cm deep on the outside, so with the thickness of the lid and base, the vacant space inside is less than that. I tested it with a ring that is a size 7 and is 23mm tall, it fits nicely in the center with not a lot of room to spare at the domed center, meaning the other areas are even shallower so again please note the measurements that it may not be appropriate for large rings. Works great to hold chains or pendants as well!

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

All my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. We are talking about 140 year old leather and board box so there are signs of age and wear. Some of the leather is wearing back around the rim. There are variations of hues, some scuffs and scratches, some spots and stains. Which in my mind make it more charming! Some adhesive I think on the inside lid or stains of some sort. Still usable and beautiful! But my disclaimer with all my estate pieces - due to age, please note this piece is not in mint condition.
