ABOUT:
Beautiful French antique 18k gold pendant or love medal with a rose / floral stem draped along one side with green gold leaves and rose cut shiny engravings. The colored gold is beautiful, contrasting against the yellow gold satin finish. Open work details and a square geometric shape. Open to have the piece engraved with initials or personalized, but as of now it has no monogram and has ever been engraved.
This is an antique piece from the Belle Epoque period that I acquired in France. I love the ornate design and the contrasting colored gold. The back is smooth and could also be personalized.
It is hallmarked on the loop with the French hallmark for 18k gold. It is also hallmarked with the goldsmith stamp.
The gold has a beautiful satin finish, so it helps mask surface wear compared to a polished gold piece with a mirrored finish.
Any props are not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos.
MEASUREMENTS:
28mm tall to the top of the loop (not including the jump ring) and 26mm wide. It somewhat thin with a dainty hand feel, it weighs a little over 2 grams.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
All my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. One tiny pin ding towards the bottom near the stem. Some surface wear to the gold from wear over the years and patina from age. The piece is well over 100 years old but looks like it was not heavily worn as the detail is still quite crisp. The gold multi coloring is wonderful and it wears beautifully.
But my disclaimer with all my estate pieces - due to age, please note this piece is not in mint condition.
