ABOUT:
Elegant antique double strand necklace with Art Nouveau pendant with a floral arrangement. Beautiful texture and patina to the gold. Some of the leaves are topped in platinum. There is a center prong set rose cut diamond with smaller diamond chips set into the leaf details. A little pearl dangles at the bottom. Really wonderful gold work.
The clasp is a replacement and appears to be brass or gold metal, so no hallmarks remain but I purchased it from a reputable and very knowledgable source and tested to confirm. The piece is all in 18k except the small replacement clasp.
The back of the pendant is marked "Depose" which is the French word for "Registered". It is very similar to our use of patents - so it is signifying not only "made in" but also "copyrighted/registered/patent protected" French design.
MEASUREMENTS:
Chain is 16.5 inches long stretched end to end.
It weighs 9.8 grams.
The pendant is 32x26mm.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
All my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. Chain is dainty but sturdy and in good condition. Clasp is a replacement and is not gold, could easily be changed out. I didn't notice originally but as I study it under magnification, one tiny diamond chip is missing from one leaf. The platinum vacant bezel still catches the light so it is not very noticeable unless you are really studying, as the diamond chips are so tiny.
